Indiana Unemployment Holds Steady

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana's unemployment rate held steady at 9.7 percent for January, according to figures released Wednesday, and state economists predicted the job market would improve in the coming months.

Non-farm employment declined by 2,000 in January as some 327,000 people were looking for work, according to the Department of Workforce Development, which adjusted the jobless rate to from 9.9 percent down to 9.7 percent, matching the national rate.
